Bitlocker encryption issue

Hi there,

I'm having trouble encrypting a 5TB Lacie hard drive on my work computer. I have already successfully encrypted a 2TB Lacie hard drive this morning (both 2TB and 5TB are brand new out of the box) with no problem.

When I start the encryption for the 5TB I get this error message: 'Can't enumerate any more; because the associated data is missing.'

Can someone provide some support please and help work out why this is happening?

Many thanks,

    Hi Dyari,

I have reformatted the drive to NTFS and it will now encrypt through
bitlocker. Out of interest I reformatted it to exfat and tried bitlocker
again (knowing it worked for NTFS) and it came up with the same error
    message.

What do you suggest I do now? Really we need the drive to be exfat to work
across our team's computers. Is that possible?

    Many thanks,

    Dom

    Hi Dominic,

    Thanks for sharing the screenshot.

Since the hard disk is new and probably you do not have any data on it (If you have data, back up them) I would suggest formatting your hard disk and changing its format from exFat to NTFS:

https://www.diskpart.com/windows-10/convert-exf... (Avoid downloading any suggested tool or utility from this link, only follow the instructions)

Then, try to enable Bitlocker on it.

    Please keep me posted.
