I want to change my 4-finger tap to mute, but when I hit 'Start Recording' on my Acer laptop, it shows the mute button as 'D'. How do I configure the tap gesture to mute?

My current process is Touchpad > Advanced Gestures > Configure Four-finger > Tap > Custom > Start Recording

    Hello Ling Yan Tung,

Good to see you again in Microsoft Community.

I tried to reproduce the scenario you described and found the same problem, but I found an alternative.

You can install Microsoft-released PowerToys(Microsoft PowerToys - Microsoft Store Apps) in the Microsoft Store, which has the globally muted shortcut enabled, and you can map that shortcut in your 4-finger tap custom settings in Windows Settings. Visit PowerToys Video Conference Mute utility for Windows | Microsoft Learn for more details.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,

    Hello Ling Yan Tung,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

Firstly, could you let me know the specific system version? Please check it (Win + R key, and type "winver", press Enter), and only send the relevant information without PII in the next reply.

What software did you use to perform the above operations? Please describe your usage scenario in detail, or take a screenshot/photo of it, and only send the relevant information without PII in the next reply.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,
