OneDrive generic access.

Hi. Is there a way to get a generic OneDrive account? In other words, one that doesn't store my settings or machine information, and isn't connected to any apps. I want to be able to click an icon on my desktop or taskbar, perhaps enter a password, and suddenly find that I have an extra folder or drive letter in my Windows Explorer that I can disconnect at will. I want the same integration with the file system as my usual OneDrive account, but without disrupting the OneDrive folder to which I'm already connected through my usual Windows login. I could buy additional storage, but that's not the issue. I don't want the additional storage attached to my Windows account.

I'd be willing to pay for such a service, but can it be done?

Thank you for any insights.

Hi, thanks for reaching out! Please allow me to assist you.

On the OneDrive client, you can have multiple work or school accounts, but only one Personal OneDrive account.

To separate your personal settings and OneDrive, I would suggest to consider OneDrive for Business. This will create a separate work account.

When it comes to Windows backup and sync, choose to use your personal Microsoft account for it.
