Shared Folder - Network Sharing keeps dropping out

Hi. I am running a Windows 10 OS.

My question is, why is it that I have to always restart my PC in order for my Shared Folder to be able to be accessed by other PCs? When other PCs can't connect to my shared folder, I have to restart it and then they'll be to connect to it. But I tend to repeat this process again a couple of hours later. Why do I always have to restart my computer for my shared folder to be accessible?

Hi Seth. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

Sharing has been widely broken in WIndows 10 since they removed automated HomeGroup, which many think is to push us to use OneDrive, which I'll discuss a bit later.

Check over these steps for how to set up simple file sharing in WIndows 10:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-US/help/409269...

If that doesn't work then try these fixes for file Sharing:

See here how to set up network file sharing using OneDrive:

If problems persists please report back exact failure and any errors received. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.
