Thanks for your reply. If I do want to enable it, do I need to add WSL to the protected folders? I know WSL v2 is technically on its own file system. It even looks like it's registering possibly as a network device.
WSL Controlled Folder Access
I was playing around with the new Windows Security features and came across the Controlled folder access setting under Ransomware protection. Can this also be enabled for directories in WSL?
If so, how would I go about configuring this?

I am Sumit here to assist you with this question.
CFA enables globally including directories of WSL too. But there is a catch.
I am using WSL and had enabled CFA. The problem is, WSL keeps blocking certain WSL processes hence not giving a great experience. I would recommend keeping it off.
