Dear Rogue1618,
I'm glad to see you in Microsoft Community.
I fully understand your current feelings, the current problem is causing you distress and your situation must be difficult. To solve our problem, I would like to ask the following questions.
- May I ask what version of your system you have? (Press Win + R -> type winver at the same time to see your version. To give you a clear suggestion, please send me a screenshot)
- Have you updated your system to the latest version?
For an introduction to the SysMain service, I believe this article will help you, click here to view it.
Because the SysMain service itself is used to increase memory, but after opening it becomes laggy instead, I think this is the effect of the service itself. To solve our problem, let's perform the following steps.
1. Virtual Memory Settings
Automatic virtual memory management is an aid to the SysMain service to turn it on when needed and off when not in use.
- Right-click the "This PC" icon -> click "Properties" -> Advanced System Settings -> "Computer Properties" window, select the "Advanced" tab, then click the "Settings" option in the "Performance" group
- In the "Performance Options" screen, select the "Advanced" tab, then click the "Change" option in the "Virtual Memory" group -> "Virtual Memory" window, check "Automatically manage paging size for all drives", OK -> restart your computer
2. Memory Diagnostics
Memory Diagnostics is to confirm if there are any memory problems
- Type "Memory Diagnostics" in the Start search bar, run Windwos Memory Diagnostics and select "Restart now and check for problems".
Also, my own advice to you is that if you turn off the SysMain service for a period of time and find that using your computer has no effect, you can turn it off.
Thank you for working closely with me on this issue and for your patience in reading, I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
