Thank you for the understanding
Bitlocker Key
My 18 month old HP laptop had some updates to complete. I was letting it do so when the screen changed to "something went wrong, don't worry the changes will be undone" however after this the Bitlocker recovery screen came up. It says "BitLocker needs your recovery key to unlock your drive because Secure Boot policy has unexpectedly changed.
I purchased this computer new and this is the first time that I have had anything like this. I set it up using my Microsoft account however when I click the link to try and find my code it says that there are no codes linked to my account? Very confused as to what is going on. I don't have it written down or on a USB or print out because I was not told about this when setting up my laptop up.
Any help will be greatly appreciated as I really don't want to wipe my laptop. Please don't just send the website to the Microsoft webpage as this hasn't helped at all unfortunately!

I'm Anna and I'd be happy to help you with your question. In this Forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.
Sorry for the trouble this might have caused. This isn't the right forum to report this, you need to do that on a Windows Forum. Better still, you might need to contact HP since the was not found on the recovery page on your Microsoft account. Also, you can contact Microsoft Windows Support to advise more on this

Request a callback
In order to schedule a call back from the Microsoft Windows support team, we need to use the native Help app. If you’re not sure how to use the app, complete the given below directions to schedule a call back from Microsoft right from your Windows desktop.
Step 1: In the Start or taskbar search box, type GetHelp and press Enter key to launch the Help app.
Enter a short summary of the product and assistance you require It will then present you with a list of support documents that may be helpful in resolving the issue.
If none of these are appropriate select the blue contact support button at the bottom of the screen
Select the product or service your question relates to
Select the Category of the question from the list presented or the nearest if no option is correct.
Select Confirm
On the next screen, you will be presented with the available support options for your locale.
Chat is the default method
If your local support center is still in operational hours for the category of questions then you will be able to select the call back by selection the option of providing a phone number for callback.
After selecting this
Select your country and enter the phone number you would like to receive the callback.
I hope this helps ;-), let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions.
Best Regards,
Anna
