Hello ! I just purchase a new computer with Windows 11 that I only use to play games. I installed the sims 2 double deluxe and when a start the game, I get the following message : "A required security module cannot be activated. This program cannot be executed (8016).".

I thought the problem came from the game but a friend who has windows 11 too and installed all of my sims 2 games on it, does not have this problem. I am not a computer expert so if someone can help me please. Thank you so much :)

    Hello Sirius Fatouma

Thanks for posting your concerns here.

I am aware of the present situation is that your sims 2 occurs "A required security module cannot be activated. This program cannot be executed (8016).

This message usually represents a conflict between the CPU driver model and game compatibility, or the game itself carries its own detection program to see if your system meets running requirement. And it doesn't seem to be related to the / Windows 11 / Security and privacy / category

Based on my query, the notification window usually pops up when the game is running, so the best place to get help with Sims 2 should be the EA official website, please go to the following link for access -> help.ea.com
