Error Message saving software to Program Files folder on C: drive

I can't save software in Program Files on my C: drive because I am getting an error saying I am not the administrator. It offers some alternative location. I don't want an alternative location. I want my software programs to reside on my C: drive in Program Files folder where they are supposed to reside. However, the snip here indicates my system does correctly identify me as the administrator. What gives?

Can someone help me so I can save Ubuntu and CentOs for my Linux studies?

    Hello Jquinn,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

When and where did you get this error, when you were installing software or trying to save a file in some software? Please describe your usage scenario in detail, or take a screenshot/photo of it, and only send the relevant information without PII in the next reply.

If the latter, run the program as administrator and try your action. "Win" logo key + "Q", type the app name, right-click the app at the top of the search result list and select "Run as administrator".

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,
