Hi.

I have a Windows 7 PC with Java installed. Do I need Java or can I just uninstall it?

It's doubtful. Unless you have an application that needs it. Internet Explorer used to need it. Chrome definitely does not. All of my clients use Chrome and I have removed Java from all of them.

The same is likely true for Adobe Acrobat.

Both of these should be avoided because of security issues.

I think you still have it installed from the security hole days when it was said to uninstall it lol.

Actually, today, having Java on the computer isn't the problem. I have various programming development versions on my computer. That form isn't a problem. But, yours probably is.

You do probably have something actually unwanted. If an application you use breaks or something from uninstalling it then you will know and just reinstall the application.

Then again, you're using Windows 7 which is a security problem anyway. So, you might as well keep it at the same time.
