Bugs in Windows Backup

Hi everyone! There are two bugs happening in Windows Backup:

  1. I needed more space in my external drive, so I removed a folder from the list, manually deleted its content from the external drive and backed up again. However, the "Size of the backup" is not updating (it's still 2,25 TB even after having deleted 700 GB). If I go to the external drive and click on Properties, the size is updated correctly.
  2. The most important bug: I want to add some subfolders from Documents, but they don't appear in the list and the files aren't backed up when I click on back up. Here's a video explaining the bug and a curious thing that happens with it: if I add the folder Documents, the subfolders I had added magically appear! https://imgur.com/a/9f86KaV

Please, I don't want the solution to be "add Documents and exclude the folders you don't want" because a) there are too many and b) I would need to constantly check for new Document folders so I can go and exclude them. I just want to back up 6 folders from Documents, without the rest.

Thank you for your time!

    Hello AgustínBulzomi,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Thank you for the video information and the description of the problem.

Regarding the first question, I think it is a storage space display Bug that will probably be fixed in a later update.

As for the second question. According to your description, it seems that a specific folder cannot be selected and backed up, but the upper-level folder can be backed up. I have not been able to restore your problem after testing, but I have encountered similar user feedback before. Therefore, I suggest you upload your video information to our feedback center and invite your friends to vote on this issue. Developers may pay attention to this issue.

Your feedback is very important to us. Thank you for your support of Microsoft products. Your feedback will help us improve our products in the future.
