Disappearing programs in Windows 10

Hello!

Since I have installed windows 10 on my laptop (about a year ago), I've been experiencing an annoying issue. Some of my programs simply disappear once in a while and I have to download and install them again. It seems to mostly relate to apps downloaded from outside of Microsoft store, most frequently with one particular app which windows considers unsafe (WorkFlowy), but which is certainly safe and I need it for my work. Another example is WhatsApp, which I had to re-install recently.

As my laptop runs smoothly otherwise, I am quite confident that this is not caused by a virus. I've heard that this could be caused by antivirus settings, but changing these didn't help or perhaps I just don't know how to do that properly. Any thoughts would be much welcome.

Thank you!
Matej

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

    I'm glad to help you.

To make sure that your program is really gone, is it also not found in the setting apps list? It will not go away under normal circumstances.

In the meantime, you can also reset the store app to check if it works.

*"Win" logo key + "Q" to open Search box, enter "Microsoft Store", right-click "*Microsoft Store" > "App Settings" > "Reset".

You can also create a new local administrator account to check if the installed store apps will disappear.

If you need more help, please don't hesitate to let me know.

    Best regards
