I have recently installed windows 10 on my computer. I had various difficulties with this along the way. Now I have a problem where Windows 10 crashes my computer during setup. I'm able to get to the point where this is audio that says "I am Cortana...". Sometimes I'm able to get a little beyond this point. Eventually the computer crashes before I'm able to complete the setup. Can someone help with this ?

If you know the make and model of your motherboard, I can check for you some BIOS-related procedure, if Windows 8.1 was running normally, a BIOS update may help you, but we really need to check your motherboard, at least to verify that it has compatibility with Windows 10.

Before I installed windows 10 I had windows 8.1 installed. When I installed Windows 10 I formatted the partition

that contained Windows 8.1 first. Another thing is that the computer has a dual boot setup where I have Ubuntu Linux installed in a second partition. I'm not sure how to check if the BIOS of the motherboard is already in latest version made available by manufacturer. Also not sure how to do the cleaning.

Thanks for the feedback. Before these attempts to install Windows 10, was there an older version of Windows running on it?

As this is an older computer, it would be good to perform a deep cleaning of all internal components, cleaning the contacts and replacing the processor's thermal paste.

Would you know if the BIOS of this motherboard is already in the latest version made available by the manufacturer?

The computer is rather old (made in 2013). The installation media is newly created. I downloaded the Windows 10 ISO and used Rufus to write to a new flashdrive. I wasn't able to get it working without downloading the ISO due to errors that occurred with the windows media application. It seems that I was able to complete the installation, but when I boot into Windows 10 after the install it is crashing during the initial setup.

Hi, my name is Anderson Souza, I hope I can help you with your issue.

Are all the components on this PC new? Motherboard, memory, disk, etc?

Is this installation media newly created? Have you tried using another pendrive to create a new installation media?
