Desktop folder not working Properly

Hello, I have a problem with the desktop folder , I can't open it at all from 'Home' (the blue oval) and the only way I can open it is through 'Quick access'(yellow highlighted)Image

Not only that , but whenever I open I get this:

These first few folders aren't on my desktop, and I can't delete or move them anywhere, they are crowding the folder and I need to get rid of them.

What can I do to solve these problems?

And Thank you

Hi Minnah Raouf,

Thank you, I understand the problem now, there is nothing wrong with your system, this is a bug that many people have reported in the new File Explorer app, Microsoft now know this bug exists, and hopefully they will put out a patch for this bug soon.

    Hi Minnah Raouf,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

In that registry location, the reference to your Desktop folder is set to C:\Users\minna\OneDrive\Desktop that is the default location in windows for that folder.

If some of the Desktop folders in File Explorer are showing a different location, I need to check one more location in your registry:

Paste this into the Address Bar at the top and hit Enter.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders

Please provide a screenshot of that Registry Editor page.

    Alright,

In regard to 1, the folder is empty

For 2, most of the folders show: D:\

    And some show: C:\Users\minna\OneDrive

Right click each f those Desktop folders, select Properties, what is the exact reported location of each of those Desktop folders?

Click View and make sure 'Address Bar' is turned on.

Paste this into the Address Bar at the top and hit Enter.
