I left some downloads running on my PC and came back to this BSOD. I've also had the DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION stop code a few times in the past. Could anyone tell me how to fix this? Thanks. (minidump files attached)

Yes, the second DMP file has error, ntkrnlmp.exe, this is usually caused by Damaged power cords and adapters and drivers, if the power cords are all good, it is pointing out the issue within the USB hub and after doing the steps I provided it should be all good.

I turned off the power management setting for the USB hubs, and from what I researched about the error code, it seems like that was the issue. Thanks! I haven't had any problems so far. The second DMP file was for the DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION error code, does it have the same issue or is it something different?

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is Bernard a Windows fan like you. I'll be happy to help you out today.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to help, upon analyzing and checking the DMP files, the error you have is 0x9F_3_RtkBtfilter_IMAGE_UsbHub3.sys, this usually occurs when the USB driver is not compatible with the system or there is a misconfiguration, for us to fix the issue, kindly follow the steps below:

Method 1. Disable power management of the USB hub

-Press the Windows key + X

    -Go to Device Manager

-Expand the Universal Serial Bus Controller

-Look for USB 3.0 or USB Root Hub or a similar name

    -Right-click > Click Power Management

-Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

    Method 2. Uninstall/Reinstall USB Hub

-Press the Windows key + X

    -Go to Device Manager

-Expand the Universal Serial Bus Controller

-Look for USB 3.0 or USB Root Hub or a similar name

    -Right-click > Click uninstall

    -Restart the PC and check

    Method 3. Do clean boot:

A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program.

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type msconfig and select System Configuration from the results.
    • On the Services tab of System Configuration, select Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Disable all.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select Open Task Manager.
    • Under Startup in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then select Disable.
    • Close Task Manager.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select OK. When you restart the computer, it's in a clean boot environment.
