I buy an Azure App Service Domain. I correctly cancel and deleted the service from Azure but the domain hasn't been released. How much time I should wait for it to be release?

Here it says "After the operation is complete, the domain is released from your subscription and available for anyone to purchase again." https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/app-service/manage-custom-dns-buy-domain

Thanks for asking question! If I have understood right you have deleted your Azure App Service domain and wants to buy it again, If so you may want to know that If you have deleted your App Service Domain resource within the past 30 days, you can easily restore it by purchasing it again with the same Domain Registration Subscription and resource group.

Unlike trying to purchase the domain name from other subscriptions or resource groups, the validation will allow you to purchase the same domain name.

Further If domain was deleted more than 30 days ago You cannot restore domain that got deleted more than 30 days ago, you have to wait for another 45 days after we delete at GoDaddy to repurchase the deleted domain in AppService Domain. If you wants to purchase the domain right away, then you can purchase it at GoDaddy by paying redemption fee.

In case domain is deleted and also deleted Azure Subscription then you cannot restore these domains and now you have to wait 45 days to repurchase them in a different Azure subscription.

Thanks. I really appreciate your time and response. I want to buy the domain again but via Outlook Premium account so I will wait 45 days. I was trying to use the Azure App Service Domain to use it in a personalized domain email in a Microsoft 365 Personal Account. I've bought a domain name last year in July by Azure App Service domains service. I deleted it on Oct 1, 2021. Despite your clear explanation that after 30+45 days it should be released by GoDaddy meaning approximately on Dec 15, 2021, it's still not available.

I’ve contacted GoDaddy yesterday, spent about 4 hours discussing with an employee and a manager the information you provided, and they promised “concern team will be revert you back with in 24 -72 hours”.

I will keep you updated.

I cant find the domain for repurchase and when I sent the email to registrar it gets forwarded to my email, I believe I still own the domain but unable to review it.

Please help.
