Microsoft update locks my computer

The microsoft update on Windows 10 locked my computer. I had to revert back to before update. A few days later the same update automatically installed and locked the computer again. I reverted back again. I'm wondering how I prevent the update from happening and locking my computer for a third time.

    Hey there, Karen Cottle,

    Welcome to our Microsoft Community.

May I ask what is the KB number of the update you have uninstalled? I can help you to see if there is a report of known issues with that update.

To avoid running into the same problem a third time, I suggest you click **here** to download the tool to hide updates. (Before the download starts, you may be prompted whether you need to save the file, please click the three dots on the right side and choose to keep it, you can download the tool normally)

Run the tool and it will scan your computer for updates that you can currently receive. Please select the one that is causing the problem and click "Hide". Once the update is hidden, it will not be installed on your computer again, which will solve your problem.

*The Hide tool will only hide the update you selected and will not affect subsequent updates.

Thank you for your time and effort working on this issue. If there are any updates or changes, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Have a nice day and stay safe!

    Sincerely,

Olivia - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
