Hello,

Is there a way to check why my computer is issuing its own certificate? Also, it says it is a "Server Authentication", is there a way to check what server my computer is communicating with and generating a certificate for?

Regards,

Hi, I'm Elise, and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

There are any types of applications which will generate self-certificated certificates, these are usually created during installation of the app before you have an opportunity to configure it and install a certificate which has been signed by a CA.

This doesn’t mean that your PC is communicating which anything, certificates such as this are using for when there is a connection made to your computer, not from it.

Where or when are you seeing this certificate?

    Kind Regards,

    Elise
