I appreciate the help! The method that worked for me was not the same as you listed above, but I did modify steam settings. I selected xbox controller configuration and checked the box for advanced controller support in my steam settings. For anyone else dealing with the issue, go on steam and select Settings -> Controller -> Global Settings for Controller, check Xbox controller configuration, and enable advanced controller support.
Xbox controller detected as double
On any game, my controller will register an input twice. I think steam or the pc believes it to be two controllers. When I go into multiplayer game it functions as two players. I only have this with my brand new xbox series x controller, and this is not an issue on my other xbox controllers. I've searched everywhere, other posts, help discords, help forums, and have not been able to find a fix. I've fully updated the firmware. Issues like these on operating systems literally built by the same company as the controller is unacceptable.

Please try to follow the steps below:
- Settings -> Controller -> Global Settings for Controller -> Selected Xbox conttroller configuration.
- Open Big picture mode -> Library -> Fifa -> Settings -> Controller Settings -> Disable both checkbox and set Steam input settings to "force on"
