New laptop, Error message during initial setup

Hi,

I am getting an error message during the initial setup of my new laptop. When trying to add my Microsoft account, confirming phone number, the following message continues to appear: “That phone number doesnt look right. Please check the country code and phone number”.

Confident I have the correct number.

Please advise.

    Thank you for the help. I was able to log in from another device and see that i had no phone number listed on my account. Once I added it, then I was able to proceed through the set up of my new laptop.

    You can't log in to your system with your Microsoft account after resetting your system right?

    If I have misunderstood, please let me know in time so that I can help you better.

    Please go to ***http://account.live.com/*** sign in your Microsoft account using another device and see if you get the same problem.

    If you still have the same problem logging in to your Microsoft account here, then I suggest changing to another authentication method.

    1. On the login page, enter your account and password and select "Show more verification methods"
    2. You can choose email verification methods, if you don't have email as a verification method, then please select "I don't have any of them".
    3. Then try to recover your account and enter a different email address than the one you are trying to recover, if you don't have another email, Please click “create a new email address using Outiookcom
