Constant disk access(+)

Can't find the reason of constant disk access that prevents it from going to sleep. The ProcMon (system drive access is excluded) after performing a clean boot shows something like that:

All that non-system drives (D: E: F:) are not in use. The OS is just installed with some basic software like MSOffice, etc. No antivirus or monitoring software are installed.
Can someone at least confirm the same behavior for the clean OS?
Thanks.

Let's try troubleshooting sleep and high disk usage to see if we can zero in on the problem:

Here is everything that works best for fixing sleep which I've been helping troubleshoot successfully for over a decade:

    1. The Display driver is so important that merely updating it might not be enough. Try everything here to make sure:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

    1. Next troubleshoot Sleep working properly:

What I do is set Power Plan timeouts to 1 minute for Display and Sleep, then 2 minutes for Hibernate. After each step in the tutorials above, restart PC and sit back to observe if the timeouts work. If so set them back to Plan defaults:

    1. Next try these fixes for high disk usage in Windows 10:

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

Aida/Memtest86/Samsung's SSD check are ok. IMHO, it's highly unlikely related. Rather something like superfetch/prefetch/indexing or other MS stuff.

What are the results of the System Checks and Hardware tests I gave you?

This is an interactive process. I give steps to perform, you do each one and then report back results until something works, so I know what to suggest next. If you need help performing any step, just ask back. But please do not skip any steps. We often find out the skipped step is the fix.

Same behavior is observed even for clean OS installation at first start (before automatic updates and after).

Hello User. I'm Greg, here to help you with this.

No, that's not disk behavior of a clean OS install.

    1. Compare the install you did with this gold standard Clean Install of Windows which will stay that way as long as you stick with the tools and methods given, has zero reported problems, and is better than any amount of money could buy: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki... Note the driver steps are so important they are printed in red.

The reason I ask you to do this is because no one of millions who have followed the install in that link has ever come back to report problems that I have seen. It is also a great learning experience that will make you permanently the master of your PC because you will learn what works best and have applied it with your own hands.

    1. If you don't want to do it over the Go over Windows using this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account to replace yours which may be corrupted. Then if necessary continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

    1. Test the hardware using these best tools and methods:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for... starting with the hard drive/SSD.

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the detailed results you post back, I will have other suggestions if necessary.
