This file is stuck in this saving state so it will not accept any changes. The problem is this only happens one one pc, anyone else who opens the file from the sharepoint site does not have this problem. The file is linked to a sharepoint folder so it isn't saved locally anywhere but this user's pc appears to be reading a pending change from somewhere that I can't find.

It seems like if we can discard this pending change we can use the file again, but there's no indication there's something actually being saved somewhere. Is there a way to undo a save on a networked excel file?

We were able to rename the file on the sharepoint site which then makes the file usable again. If we change the file back to the original name, the issue comes right back.

I basically am looking to find out if there is any way to stop this file from infinitely saving other than changing the file name.

    Hi,@Morris, Asante
Does the computer in question have the same office version as other computers?

There is no option to undo a save on a networked excel file.

Please click Options in excel -> Under Save tab -> Uncheck “AutoSave OneDrive and SharePoint Online files by default on Excel” to compare the result:

Note, if we uncheck the option, we will not able to see changes from others in real time, we need to save the file manually and then view changes.

We could also clear office upload center cache to check if the issue still exists:
