I'm planning to do a factory reset. but recently I got few recommendations that I should do a clean install instead. What is better? Factory reset or clean install?

If so, how do I clean install?

Hi sofi_,

I'm Paul and I'm here to help you with your concern.

Reset PC will reinstall Windows while having the option to keep your personal files.

Clean Reinstall will erase everything from the drive that Windows is installed on so you will need to back up anything you want to save before you begin this process.

None of them is better than the other. It will depend on what you want or need. If you have large files to keep and you don't have a different drive then you should go with Reset PC. If you already have a backup of everything on a different drive then you can do a Clean reinstall.

Here is a guide to Clean Install or Reinstall Windows 11.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.
