Why is file explorer so slow?

Regardless of what i search for, explorer takes a century, I searched for 'certificate' and get a looooooooooooooong list of irrelevant results. "Certificate" may appear in the 2,019,923,447th level of the file's properties. The green indicator rushes through the scroll arrow then hits the x on the far right, and sits there forever. Is the search done? If not, when will it be done? The other irritating thing is that once I decide to open one of the found records and it's the wrong one, the OS closes the search, forcing me to start all over again. Am I doing something wrong? Is not switching to Mac the wrong I am doing? Really, I have found explorer to be a useless drag all the way since Windows 3.1.

If it were me, I would try, certificate certification word doc. Are you searching the Documents folder?

I just searched my documents folder using the above keywords above and only had five items come up. The search was over in seconds. I have an SSD Two TB.

I need all files and specifically Word documents of which the names contain "certificat" such as certificate, certification. Most of the results have no connection to the search criterions whatsoever, unless (as I hyperbolied [new word, take a hint, Websters.]) with level 2 trillion of he properties is actually a feint possibility. After all evolutionists think that way.

In this case, the search is on a 7,200 RPM 1 TB HDD. I fin the same issue when I search on my Surface's 128 GB SSD- the search never seems to end! Logically, when the green "barometer" reaches the down arrow in that bar, I'd think the search is complete. Instead the bar moves right up to the X with which one closes the search, The green bar remains active (i. e., movement that indicates activity). Then Explorer just sits there like a two-toes sloth in winter.

I don't know anything about your computer, but have you ever tried other keywords that might speed up the process such as, Certificate May 2020?

If you are searching on your computer, do you have an SSD or HDD?

    Speed of HDD

I am Sumit here to assist you with this question.

    Please download Powertoys:

Use PowerToys Run to search your files. Is it any better than the Windows Search?
