An unknow process is using 32% CPU in task manager

Hello everyone,

So after 5mins of idling, the process named 'System' in task manager starts using 32% of cpu. After checking in Process Explorer, I found this in System process : ntoskrnl.exe!SeAccessCheckWithHint+0x1c790 with thread ID 9384 is using 12% (not 32% weirdly) CPU after 5mins idling.

Any ideas on what's causing it or what to do ? Should I just kill it ? Will it start again after killing it ?

    Hi,

My name is Igor, it's a pleasure for me to help others and I'll do all my best to help you.

Unfortunately, the live debugging is needed to find a reason, I see many threads with this address.

You may try to suspend the thread instead of killing and see what will happen.

    Do you have Hyper-V enabled?

Please try to run Task Scheduler and change Library/Microsoft/Windows/Memory DiagnosticRunFullMemoryDiagnosticRunningEndPropertiesConditions/Start the task only if the computer is idle for a one hour.
