Problem with audio

I am currently facing an issue where there is no audio played through my headphones when plugged in my laptop. I tried plugging my headphones through my external monitor's audio jack and it worked fine. I'm assuming it has nothing to do with my headphones. The microphone on my headphone when plugged in my laptop worked fine. Audio can be played through the speakers but just not the headphones.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Hello!

I didn't find Realtek (R) Audio in the list.

Also, not sure if you missed out, I am now currently facing issues with my microphone not working. Could be an issue with the audio drivers since it worked at first.

    Thanks

    Hello iAudrey,

Thank you for updating me with that information.

    **Open Device Manager

Click View > Show hidden devices

Expand the Sound, video and game controllers

Find the Realtek HD Audio driver in the list

Right click it and select Update

Click "Browse my computer for driver software"

Select "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer"

Make sure to put a check mark "Show compatible hardware"

Select an older driver, Realtek (R) Audio if present from the list

Click Next then Restart your computer

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

    Kind regards,

    John DeV

    Hello!

I fixed the issue with the sound, not really sure how. Did a bit of uninstalling and stuff. My audio driver used to be Realtek(R) Audio, but now it is Realtek HD Audio. I would also like to ask how can I revert back to Realtek (R) Audio?

But now I can't seem to be using my microphone anymore. I also noticed in the events tab in device manager for my microphone that the device is not migrated.

    I have an ASUS G712L.
