What is wrong with my windows update for it to persist for more than a week, also I've already tried running the cmd commands such as stopping BITS and such but it still persisted, also clean booted my pc but the problem still continues. I also tried searching for the update it's missing and download it manually but it also failed (KB5021255). Is there really no other way but to do a clean install?

Pls follow these steps:

  1. Backup your registry hives (including the COMPONENTS hive) using RegBak.
  2. From Admin Command Prompt, run this command:
    reg.exe load HKLM\COMPONENTS C:\Windows\System32\Config\COMPONENTS
  3. Download CBS fix.reg and run it. Click Yes when prompted.
  4. Download this manifest file and place it in C:\Manifests folder.
  5. Open a Trusted Installer Command Prompt (using AdvancedRun tool).
  6. In the Ti Command Prompt, run this command:
    copy c:\manifests\*.manifest c:\windows\winsxs\manifests\
  7. Try installing the KB5021255 MSU.

If the problem persists, download the Windows 11 ISO, double-click the ISO to mount it to a drive letter. Run Setup.exe and complete the repair process.

Your apps, settings, and data will be retained during the repair installation.

    Hi John,

Try the offline installer MSU file.

    2022-12 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5021255) windows11.0-kb5021255-x64_2830fb558a628b0a1847a0025d3da14928f82a5e.msu

If that doesn't work, please upload your CBS logs. Follow these steps to collect them:

    1. Open the folder "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS"
    2. Select all files, right-click on the section, click Send to → Compressed (zipped) folder.
    3. Click Yes when you see the following prompt:

Windows cannot create the Compressed (zipped) Folder here.

Do you want it to be placed on the desktop instead?

    1. Upload the zip file to your OneDrive/Dropbox and share the link here.

Also, type VER in Command Prompt and note down the OS Version/Build shown in the output. Post the info here.
