Event Error Causing System Crashes

THis has been happening for a while, but I believe I finally located the cause of seemingly random crashes, something that always appears in the event log at the time of the crash:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device HID\VID_046D&PID_0A9C&MI_03&Col02\7&2b429aa8&0&0001

I don't really know what this means. I'm assuming an outddated driver, but generally search results haven't been very useful.

If anyone could help me figure this out so that I can play games again, I'd be very grateful.

I also found that you have several errors related to Nvidia. It indicates " The description for Event ID 14 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer."

I will recommend the following solutions.

  1. Install the latest Windows updates.
  2. Update or Rollback the NVidia driver in the Device Manager.

Open Device Manager >> click Display Adapters >> right- click your NVidia driver >> click Update Driver.

If the system says that you have the latest driver installed. Try to Roll back the driver. Right-click your NVidia driver >> click Properties >> click Driver tab >> click Roll back driver.

  1. Use the NVidia Geforce Experience Software to update the driver.
  2. Clean uninstall the currently installed NVidia driver using DDU then download and install the available driver from the PC manufacturer's/NVidia support website.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.

    Hi CaptainToast,

I'm Paul and I'm here to help you with your concern.

Can you share the System event logs so that I can additional details regarding the issue?

    >> Open Event Viewer.

    >> Click Windows Logs.

    >> Right-click System.

    >> click "Save all events as"

    >> Select location, name the file, and click Save.

    >> select "Display Information for these languages ", click English and click OK.

    >> Upload the saved log file to OneDrive and share the link here.

    Thanks.
