0x800704cf error code with local files

I receive the 0x800704cf error message when accessing .png files on my local C drive. Within the same folder of getting an error message with a .png file, I am able to open .json and .settings files. I am able to copy and paste the files on a thumb drive but with the USB still plugged into the computer, i am still unable to open the .png files. It is only when I move the USB to a different computer that I am able to open the .png files. I restarted the PC and while it did not resolve the issue, it did load with a different 0x800704cf error: "Windows cannot access C:\ProgramFiles\WindowsApps\Microsoft.549981C3F5F...\Win32Bridge.Server.exe."

Why would it give a network error for local files and how can I correct this?

    Hi Clay,

This could be a problem with the Photos app, assuming that the default handler for PNG files is the Photos app.

If so, you may try resetting the Photos app via Settings → Apps → select "Microsoft Photos". Click Advanced Options, and click Repair.

And please check if you're able to open those PNGs using the Paint app.
