Hello,

I installed an app yesterday. I run it and it was working fine. Today, when I tried to run the app, it says access is denied. I am using Windows 11. The program size now is 0 kb as well.

I tried many possible solutions:

  • Run as administrator.
  • Change compabilility mode.
  • Full virus scan using Microsoft defender.
  • Reduce user account control settings.
  • Change admin approval mode for a built-in administrator account in local security settings.
  • Edited 'Local Security Policy' and Enabled the following two items.
    1. Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options > "User Account Control: Admin Approval Mode for the Built-In Administrator account"
    2. Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options > "User Account Control: Run all Administrators in Admin Approval Mode"
  • Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
  • Move to Start > Settings > Update & security. Click on For developers in the left panel, check Developer mode option under the  Use developer featuressection.
    1. Click Win + S to open the search box and type smartscreen in the box. 2. Click App & browser control from the search results. 3. Windows Defender Security Center will appear. Then, check Off under the Check apps and files section.
  • Create a new admin account.

The app installed is darknetframework (open source library I compiled on Visual Studio).

Nothing worked for me. Can you please help me with this?

Given this is not your standard type app, I would recommended posting in the Q&A forum, as this is the intended audience for these type of queries:

Hi, I'm Elise, and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

Could you provide some further information on the app you are trying to run?

Could you also take a screenshot of the full error message?

    Kind Regards,

    Elise
