Is it possible to host a email server (like iRedMail) on an azure VM. And do I need SendGrid (or any alternative) for this, because the IP is blacklisted (in some lists)?

What about the IP of the VM being "blacklisted", so the email gets detected as spam?

I heard that some IP's are on block lists (so when you send an email, the email goes into the spam box), is this with azure IP's?
@Jeremy Visser Some IP might be blocked because of many reasons. It might be a security reason as well for which specific set of IP have been blocked or it might be due to SMTP port configuration on VM as well It has nothing to do with Azure IP.
