Hello,

When I run sfc /scannow command, it showing me that 'sfc scannow finds some corrupted files but unable to fix them'. When I checked CBS logs, I found these error messages-

  1. DEPLOY [Pnp] Failed repairing file: C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\vmbusr.sys: ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND
  2. CBS Failed to get visibility for package: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-LA57-FoD-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.22621.1 [HRESULT = 0x80070490 - ERROR_NOT_FOUND].

I am currently using windows 11 insider preview beta channel build 22623.1020, but these error problems are persistent from 22623.870 build and before that I have not encountered such type of errors. I also tried DISM Restore health tool but nothing fixed. Please help me to fix these errors.

Same sfc error message, same missing file. Very rare for me to have sfc errors and I have never had a failure to repair. Windows 11 Pro build 22621.900.

Recently a cumulative update was installed KB5020044, just 2 days ago. This may be related because I run sfc periodically and the update to coincide with the problem.

I cannot uninstall the update becuase I did a dism store cleanup.

Update! I fixed mine. I had disabled virtualization based security and removed WSL and Virtual feature a few weeks ago. That missign file vmbusr.sys, made me think it might be related. So I turned all that stuff back on and also took steps to force windows it update and it reinstalled the cumulative update and that seemed to fix it.
