Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is Bernard a Windows fan like you. I'll be happy to help you out today.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to help, to change the install location of new apps, kindly follow the steps below:

Go to Settings> System > Storage > Advanced storage settings

Click Where new content is saved

Under New apps will save to: > Change it to another driver

Note: for the apps that already installed, you need to reinstall it, to change the location, as moving the folder will corrupt the system files of the apps.

Let me know how it goes and I hope that helps.

    Bernard

For apps, all apps you installed from the Microsoft Store will be on default to G: drive, for documents, yes you will have G:\Documents.

New apps will save to is for Microsoft Store and Xbox installations

Thanks a lot much appreciated.... did the change and it created the folllowing before any app are installed.

    G:\Program Files

    G:\vProgram Files (x86)

    G:\WindowsApps

So the only difference with the C:\ is that on the C:\ the WindowsApps is under C:\Program Files

This will work fine for me:):)

    Thanks again,

Lester BernardReyes - Thank you for the answer, but it's not clear enough for an old timer like me. I started with computers long before Windows was even dreamed of.

Windows has always tried to force installation to a buried folder on the OS drive (usually C:). I've always rebelled and tweaked things including the registry to install them in their own named folders (normal) but in the C: root directory. That way when I wanted to see a program's particulars all I had to do was open C: drive instead of digging deeper and there they were.

Now, Windows 11, is proving difficult. so, not just selecting a drive, but how can I reset something to install apps and/or programs to the specific folder I choose?
