Visual Studio Code and HTML

I've been setting up Visual Studio Code for a while now.

I'm down to attempting to get VS Code to open and execute HTML files.

I found a way to do this after watching Tech Decode on YouTube.

Google Chrome is installed in C:\Programs\Google\Chrome\Application. It executes without error.

Visual Studio Code is installed on the same drive.

I'm using Google - Chrome to execute the HTML.

Every time I run an HTML script, Chrome gives me a message indicating it can't find the filename specified in the HTML.

That filename is spelled exactly like the filename within the HTML script.

VS Code will allow me to preview the output at runtime.

So, I know the HTML is free from errors as it is a very short script among other reasons.

Chrome is giving me the same error message every time, "%24Filename". and it suggests that there is a typographical error in the HTML.

I'm thinking that some other extension I've added to VS Code is giving me trouble.

I may very well be wrong.

I think maybe the installation is somehow in error, though it went flawlessly.

JavaScript and CSS as well as Python all execute without errors.

HTML is killing me.

I'm using an old Dell Desktop PC that serves me well.

How do I identify the source of the error and remedy it?

I could really use some help.
