Hi all,

I used quick assit to support remote clients all the time, user don´t have admin right in their PCs but I could connect with a non elevated quick assist session and from it make shift right click on C:\Windows\System32\quickassist.exe and run anothe instance with a user with admin rights so I got a new quick assist elevated session.

That worked like a charm until Microsoft decided to update quick assist and now I´m no able to launch the app using shift rght click on the icon, I can´t even double click on it, it has to be launched from start menu icon which doesn´t give the option to run as another user.

It has the option to run as an admin but this would pause the remote sesion so I cannot enter credentials.

Anyway I can launch the new Quick Assist with a different user that the one logged in?

Thanks.-

When do you expect this huge oversite on microsofts part will be fixed? This program is intended for administrators to assist lower level users - - that cannot be done remotely if they cannot download your new version without admin password. This completely defeats the purpose of the entire program. What do you plan to do to fix it?

    Hello,

Thanks for your post in the Microsoft Community.

I understand you're having trouble updating Quick Assist.

After our tests, the update of the quick assistant requires entering the administrator account and password. Standard users cannot install.

Using a standard user can get updates and download them, but the installation requires administrator permission, if there is no administrator permission, the installation will fail.

So if you want to solve this problem, you still need to use an administrator account.

There is currently no other solution to this problem, thank you for your understanding.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!
