Admin Password after BSOD

After a recent driver update attempt I received a BSOD for Irql_not less than or equal with the specific code rcraid.sys. I am able to access the troubleshooting screens post restart. Here is where I run into trouble. My admin account is password protected. I've tried every iteration of every password I've ever used and it keeps telling me it's an incorrect password. So I can't run any of the advanced troubleshoot options. The error prevents it from booting in any version of safe mode and the automatic fixer just reruns it back through the BSOD to the troubleshooting screen. How do I get back into my PC to undo the driver update and correct the errors?

    Hi gsmith0494

    Do you see Startup Settings?

If you do, select that and click Restart

Upon restart, press 4 to enter Safe Mode

Startup Repair states "Startup Repair couldn't repair your PC". I don't have a safe mode start from the Bootable USB.

    Hi gsmith0494

Is there an option for Startup Repair, or can you get into Safe Mode?

I am in the process of doing this. The new issue is that it will not find an old system recovery image, runs into an error trying to uninstall previous windows updates, and cannot find an issue to repair.

    Hi gsmith0494

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    1

If you you are being blocked by a password in the Recovery Environment, first try leaving the password box empty, or if that does not work, try entering any old password you may have used in that PC

    2

if you still cannot use the recovery options, then, you will need to create a bootable Windows 10 USB on another working PC and boot your PC from that, then rather than installing Windows 10, select ‘Repair this Computer’ that will give you access to the Recovery Environment from there, you will not be blocked by a password.

    Click this link:

to download the Media Creation Tool (Click on Download Tool Now), with that you can download the latest Windows 10 ISO (Select Create Installation Media for Another PC), you can create a bootable USB flash drive (min 8GB) using that tool

Then, Boot your PC from the Installation Media you just created (change Boot Order in your BIOS)
