I have a brand new laptop, but whenever I turn it off and then turn it back on later, or "wake" my laptop from sleep, it will go blue screen showing the stopcode "IRQL driver not less or equal", but after I restart it the BSoD won't occur again, other times the problem won't happen. Also, Windows is completely up to date.

these are the dmp files I've got so far: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AlSqFMMD2T5khHU3B2k\_qRPaL3JH?e=vJGpCv

I see your computer has Realtek audio and networking. So it's a good idea to reinstall both drivers.

Since you have uninstalled the audio driver, download the latest version from the link below and install it.

https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Driver/n...

The manufacturer recommends installing this driver after disconnecting from the internet.

As for the network driver, I see that the Realtek driver seems to be for wired network only.

Do you use Wi-Fi or wired internet on this laptop?

Send a screenshot of your laptop network adapters.

  • Press "Windows + X" and select "Device Manager". Then expand "Network adapters".

Use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

Thanks for the screenshot.

It confirms that only the wired network uses the Realtek driver. It's a good idea to reinstall, just in case.

Before starting the procedure, download the latest network driver from the link below.
https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Driver/n...

Source: https://www.gigabyte.com/Laptop/AORUS-17--Intel...

Uninstall the current driver:

  1. Open "Device Manager";
  2. Expand "Network adapters";
  3. Right-click on the "Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller" and select "Uninstall device";
  4. On the confirmation screen, check "Delete the driver software for this device" and click "Ok";
  5. Restart the PC.

After the PC restarts, install the driver you downloaded.

After reinstalling the audio and network driver, use Windows normally and see if the blue screen has stopped.

    Thanks for helping! My computer's manufacturer is gigabyte technology and the model is Aorus 17 Xe4, and I'm not really sure how to reinstall the driver. Also, I've already uninstalled the Realtek Audio Driver from apps & features in the settings and also unistalled the realtek(R) audio in the device manager, but I'm not sure what exactly should I do next. Or am I doing it wrong?

    Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    The minidumps point to Realtek's "rtf64x64.sys" driver as causing the error.

    This driver appears to be a helper for Realtek's network or sound driver. Updating/reinstalling the Realtek driver should resolve this issue.

    If you can't find the drivers, let me know your computer's manufacturer and model.

    Feel free to ask back any questions.
