Java in S Mode

Not computer savvy & need your help! Purchased a lap top for Dad, which turns out to be in S Mode and Windows 11.  My (elderly) Dad was searching for a WP program easier than Word so I suggested Libreoffice. Dad tried it on a different computer & liked it, so he purchased it from the Microsoft Store. He then found out that Libreoffice will require Java - which isn't available via the Microsoft Store.  (We want to continue maintaining S mode because Dad loves the security it's been providing.) Since Libre is supported by Microsoft -and even offered via their Store- am wondering if there may be some other Microsoft supported program that can be used in place of Java to run Libre...?  Or, is there a way to install Java on a S Mode lap top??  Pleeease Help, I'd truly appreciate it!!

    Hi,

Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community.

Unfortunately, Windows in S mode cannot install external applications.

But the Microsoft Store has corresponding Microsoft Office applications. If you have the corresponding subscription, then using this will be a good choice.

Thanks for understanding and stay safe!
