Whenever I use a heavy app, ntoskrln.exe spikes up to 30-40% which causes stutters. Ran a defender scan and found no malware.

Can anyone tell whats causing the issue?

I am having this exact same issue since last week.

I have an SSD and tried the above mentioned procedure but it didn't work.

The only way I can properly use my PC now is to restart it everytime ntoskrnl.exe spikes but disk usage. That seems to work for about an hour or so and then again ntoskrnl.exe starts clobbering up disk space and I have to restart again....and the cycle continues...!

To try to solve the problem we will disable the programs in windows startup:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-t...

Note: This process will not affect the operation of your applications, they will just not start with the operating system. Later, you can activate them again.

Please return to this thread letting me know if you were successful, ok?

There's a SSD and HHD in the device

    Primary Drive: WDSN570 500GB SSD

    Secondary Drive: 1TB Toshiba HHD

Hi, I'm Mario, and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

We are sorry about what happened.

There are a few procedures to try to solve the problem, however I need you to first inform me if you have an HDD or SSD storage unit.

I await your answer to continue this thread, ok?

    Kind Regards,

    Mario B.
