Hi,

I am working on a project to calculate the daily cost of azure resources for charge back.

I found in some document that for azure data lake gen 2

"Storage capacity is billed in units of the average daily amount of data stored, in gigabytes (GB), over a monthly period. For example, if you consistently used 10 GB of storage for the first half of the month, and none for the second half of the month, you would be billed for your average usage of 5 GB of storage."

If its calculated over a monthly period then how do you calculate the daily value. I see a daily entry for storage in the csv file exported from azure cost management.

If I ingest say 100 GB of data. store the data in adls and delete it after 10 minutes. how will the bill be calculated.

    Hello @Murugan Andezuthu Dharmaratnam ,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A platform.

Azure Data Lake Storage provides the choice of organizing data in two different ways. With hierarchical namespaces option, customers can organize their Data Lake into structured directories, folders and files. With flat namespaces, customers can operate their Data Lake as an unstructured blob store. Regardless of the two options, customers will pay for the same storage price as per the table below. However, with the hierarchical namespace option, customers will be charged for additional meta-data associated with the folder and directory structure as part of the bill.

Note: Without any transaction and other operations and Meta Data Storage meters.
