IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Anonymous
2022-07-04T17:36:17+00:00

I recently had IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bluescreen. What caused this, it says steam.exe somewhere in the analysis but I'm not sure. Also, I had some issues on games freezing for a couple of seconds recently. Here is my minidump analysis. ******************************************************************************* * * * Bugcheck Analysis * * * *******************************************************************************

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.
Arguments:
Arg1: ffffd6018de2b280, memory referenced
Arg2: 0000000000000002, IRQL
Arg3: 0000000000000001, bitfield :
bit 0 : value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
bit 3 : value 0 = not an execute operation, 1 = execute operation (only on chips which support this level of status)
Arg4: fffff8014685ea6b, address which referenced memory

Thanks for the update. The dmp file shows possible disk corruption / NTFS file system corruption. This can also cause freezing in games.

    1. Try running this command in Command Prompt. Chkdsk /f /r to resolve any file system corruption.

Ensure that the SATA cables or the HDD/SSD are properly connected.

Remove any other external storage device on your computer to check if they are the one causing it.

    1. Uninstall any third-party antivirus or Malware cleaner. Use their uninstall tool to fully clean the software.
    2. Then try running SFC System File Checker to scan and repair system files.

4.Clean and install the Nvidia graphics drivers using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)

    https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-dr...

Run the application from Safe mode.

    https://support.microsoft.com//help/12376/windo...

    Select Clean and restart

    Once the drivers are uninstalled

Install the latest Graphics Card driver

    1. Reinstall and update these drivers Chipset, network, and sound drivers.

Download the latest driver from the Manufacturer's support website and install it.

    Restart your computer.
