I have multiple computers at my work that still have windows 7 in 2021. Can i legally upgrade them to windows 10 for free using the media creation tool or do I have to buy a windows 10 license for each? I want to make sure everything is legit and by the book.

    Hello there,

I notice that you mentioned “in business environment”. So are your computers Win7 Enterprise edition? If so, you shall enter Volume License Service Center to download and purchase the key.

    Hello,

Microsoft officially ended Windows 10 free upgrade offer back in year 2016. Read details here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/12435/windows-10-upgrade-faq

There is no official Microsoft source available right now that confirms free upgrade still works and is a legal process to get Windows 10.

To summarize, you will need to buy new Windows 10 license. As you're doing business upgrade, you may opt for volume licensing.

    Regards.
