Trying to shrink my C drive and make a new drive for Oculus Quest. Got a error message the first time saying "This volume is not healthy" from Virtual Disk Manager. So I tried it again and also did a scan of my drive. Nothing was found and I keep getting the error "The parameter is incorrect". I'm not tech savvy at all. Any help?

Hi, I'm Robinson, and I’m happy to help you today.

I know how frustrating this may be for you but I'll do my very best to help you.

The error "This volume is not healthy" indicates that the dynamic volume is currently accessible, but I/O errors have been detected on the underlying dynamic disk. You can use the chkdsk command to check the file system and file system metadata of the hard drive for logical and physical errors.

1-Right-Click on Start then click on Windows Powershell (admin)

    2- Type these commands.

    chkdsk c: /f /r (and press Enter)

3-This command will require a reboot to run

Another option is to use the manufacturer's tool to scan your hard drive for errors and check drive health. Go to your hard drive manufacturer's website download and run the tool.

If you can not find the tool on your hard drive manufacturer's website you can use the SeaTools, which is a comprehensive, easy-to-use diagnostic tool that helps you quickly determine what is preventing you from accessing data on your desktop or notebook computer. It includes several tests that will examine the physical media on your Seagate, Maxtor or Samsung disk drive and any non-Seagate disk drive.
