AMD Microphone Array on Laptop Not Working Properly - Help

Hi,

My laptop has an internal microphone array. There are three microphone dotted around the laptop camera of my Acer Swift 3. The internal array initially worked just fine. It stopped working about a month or two in of owning the laptop. By stop working, I mean it cuts out and only picks up the occasional muffled word. When I put the microphones right by my lips it will pick up the sound but it seems like I'm speaking through a wall or underwater.

The laptop has zero issues when it is recording using a headset or external microphone. Audio recording is crystal clear.

Thank you

HI Gray. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

It could be a hardware issue, after working through these fixes you'll know if WIndows is involved:

Feel free to ask back any questions. If you'll report back results for each step it can help determine what else needs to be tried. I will stick with you until it is fixed.

If nothing there helps I'd ask for help at the best hardware forums, Tom's Hardware forums here:
