Before setup a Windows Server Machine as Hyper-V Server

Hi,

Hyper-V can be installed on both; Windows 10 and Windows Server, but to use Hyper-V Server with full functionality, it is strongly recommended to install it on Windows Server.

Please let us know, after installing Windows Server on a bare-metal hardware, what configurations are required on host OS before installing the role of Hyper-V?

Hi,

You may check the following article to verify if the host meets the requirements to install the Hyper V role.

If yes, just install it, no specific configurations required to do, just install it and restart the server, then you get a Hyper V server, and enjoy using it:

Just patch it fully, and you're good to go. No other roles should be installed on host. Host can optionally be joined to domain.
