We couldn't set default save location error code 0x80070002 for games and apps only?

Okay I am confused. My HDD drive F will not allow me to install Xbox Games on it and I go to the "Where new content is saved" option and go to apps and games and choose my drive (Drive F) and it gives me "We couldn't set default save location error code 0x80070002." Now I tried to go to the other options there like where to save new documents, pictures, etc; and all the other options allowed it except the games and apps option. WHAT GIVES? The drive is formatted to NTFS and I've even ran CHKDSK to see if there is issues and it's fine. I have no clue what to do at this point, and nowhere online has an answer that works.

OK....So I figured it out. I tried everything Paulo and Greg said and it didn't really help...portions of different areas were right, but you have to do it a special way and order that wasn't listed elsewhere.

What ultimately worked was formatting the drive BUT not in the usual way. I had to go to Disk Management and format using that BUT you have to DELETE VOLUME first and then format the drive again. Then you would have to go to default app save location setting again and choose that drive. IT WILL FAIL! Then you delete Windowsapps folder from that drive and restart the PC. Once you restart and log back in you go to XBOX app and attempt to install a game to drive again from the XBOX App and BOOM it worked. Odd....

Hi Dustin, I am Paulo and I'd like to help.

Have you tried changing the default location within the Xbox app? See if that helps
