Hi Gerherawte -
My apologies but it seems that I ran out of ideas, maybe someone has a better resolve.

When I see that a restart is required for updates and that it will restart automatically outside active hours I pause it in case I get into active hours and I'm still working since I can restart it myself. However when I unpause it the updates that were queued and that ostensibly essential and in need of a restart to update properly have gone missing and when I restart they do not appear. Sometimes they will appear to be installing while the computer is running even though it hasn't restarted and other times they have simply gone missing. I do not want to be missing out of updates and I feel that Microsoft isn't communicating something correctly so this is frustrating

Hi Gerherawte -
Thank you for your response. Have you tried manually checking for Windows update? If so, kindly right-click on start menu then hover your mouse over Shut down or sign out, check if there will be an option to Update and Shut down or Update and Restart.

Jerico T.
No, this is how it's supposed to look, I just want to know whether it is installing or not.
Hi Gerherawte -
I'm Jerico T., I understand that you're having some issues right now and I'd be more than happy to help you today.
Please try to manually check for Windows Update by going to settings then select Windows Update on the left pane, lower part. If that didn't work, run the built-in Windows Update troubleshooter.
Feel free to reach back if you need any further assistance.
Hope this help. Have a good day.
Thank you,
Jerico T.
