hello my laptop is ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo UX582LR running windows 10 pro

many but not all of my windows apps are crashing

all apps from asus and apps like office, skype, one note, Realtek audio console, intel graphics command center, Microsoft whiteboard, paint 3d, nvidia control panel, phone link, xbox game bar are not able to run, either crashing at the start or opening and crashing or opening and get stuck on loading, many of these above mentioned apps on windows fresh login display multiple error boxes appear at startup displaying the apps exact location and mentioning the parameter is incorrect.

when i go to the locations of these above mentioned apps and run the main .exe files either all of them open up and hang or error box appears mentioning specifically 2 files missing mentioning SharedLibrary.dll & mrt100_app.dll was not found - try reinstalling, so i try uninstalling or updating thse apps from windows store but they download but do not install showing error Code: 0x80070005, but other apps get installed but specifically these above ones don't!!!

when opening one note for windows 10 it shows error Code: 0x80004005

some apps don't have proper read and write access like 'snip&Sketch-by microsoft' which opens & snip also perfectly but is unable to open any files instead displays an error in box with no code; so i changed the 'WindowsApps' security permisions and took ownership from my administrative account, but it was of no use, so i reverted the security permisions back to 'Trusted Installer' by using this command 'NT Service\TrustedInstaller' in 'select user or group' at 'advanced security settings' and i tried opening the above apps again but it was of no use....

rest all other windows apps are running fine, I have already tried wsreset.exe via cmd prompt admin and running windows apps troubleshooter via settings app which says crashing and hanging apps - not solved

plz tell a solution soon also if without resetting my pc if possible plz

You may try to install NET 3.5 by ensuring it is active under the old control panel >programs & features >turn Windows feature on & off.
There’s no need to back anything up but it is wise to do so.
Are you signed in with a Microsoft account? Is this set as the main Admin account?
Have you tried resetting the update components?
Open cmd prompt/powershell with admin & enter:
    Net Stop bits
    Net Stop wuauserv
    Net Stop appidsvc
    Net Stop cryptsvc
    Ren %Systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore DataStore.bak
    Ren %Systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution\Download Download.bak
    Ren %Systemroot%\System32\catroot2 catroot2.bak
    Del "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\qmgr*.dat"
    Net Start bits
    Net Start wuauserv
    Net Start appidsvc
    Net Start cryptsvc
Restart the PC & try updating again.

    And/or:
Search for services.msc & find Windows Update & ensure it is set to Automatic.

hy thx for replying, i went through ur suggestion and the website, my windows is already latest one, i will go through with it soon, stiil a bit unsure.... do i need to backup somethings b4 doing it.. like microsoft edge tabs backup

or is there any way i can get full administrative access, so that i can grant my apps especially the ones i mentioned above to have read and write access, i had the same issue but long back with adobe fresco installation when i had its subscription- so i quit on it....

also i searched further for the issue of SharedLibrary.dll & mrt100_app.dll, seems like its related to .net framework, don't know which version, but i have the latest 4.8 something, thought of reinstalling it after uninstalling it, but don't know how to do that...although i also tried uninstalling & reinstalling visual c++ redistributable all versions successfully, tried opening apps again but still no use....

if u can suggest any way of solving this manually b4 going for the upgrade repair process, would be nice....

Hello, I’m Virginia, I have 20 years of expertise in fixing my own & friends’ PC problems.

Sorry to hear you’re experiencing problems. May I ask which Windows 10 build are you running - 2004, 20H2, 21H1 or 21H2?

I recommend an in-place upgrade repair.

To repair Windows without losing any data then follow the instruction here:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/16397-repai...

This will also upgrade you to the latest version of Windows - currently 21H2 - if you’re not already running this.

In a nutshell you just download the media creation tool, run this & choose to upgrade now or if you are creating media on another PC, you download the tool, run it & choose to create media for another PC, then insert the Windows 10 media (USB/DVD) in the problem PC & run setup from within Windows.

Please note a repair install is not a reset, this is a last attempt at repairing a PC without a clean install. If this fails to repair the problem then usually a clean install is required.
