File display problem

Every time I open a folder, I see a list of files that instantly begins to depopulate file by file (details is default) then repopulate, sometimes in a different layout. This happens on every drive I own, so it's not a hardware issue. This all started after the last update I was forced to install, so I know there's a connection. The file list depopulates at about 2 files/second, which can make accessing a folder take as long as 10 minutes. I never had this happen with any previous Windows version.

Also, it is causing settings to change when I use a web browser. When the file download/upload dialog box opens, the settings I previously had complete disappear and it reverts to whatever it decides is default. Settings changes are both file sort order (if other than default) and the view (especially for images).

    Hi Ichigo,

I'm Paul and I'm here to help you with your concern.

    Please try the solutions below,

    1. Use System File Checker to check and fix corrupted system files that may be the cause of the issue. Please refer to the link.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/402652...

    1. Restart Windows Explorer.

    Open Task Manager(Ctrl+ Shift+Esc) > right-click Windows Explorer > click Restart.

    1. Try to use System Restore to restore your Windows to the point before the issue persists.

To open System Restore, Press Windows Key + R > Type and enter: rstrui.exe.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.
