Issues connecting Bluetooth controllers

I have a new Windows 11 PC. I am trying to connect an XBOX controller and PS4 controller using Bluetooth (not at the same time). Both controllers work fine using USB cables. I was able to connect these controllers to my old PC using Windows 10.

The XBOX controller paired with Windows 11. If I connect it through Bluetooth, it will connect and disconnect constantly. My PS4 also seemed to pair correctly. If I turn the controller on, I get a prompt to pair it. I click yes, and it gives me a message that it was successful, but then the controller shuts off immediately.

I don't know where to start to troubleshoot these issues. Are they OS issues or hardware issues?

Thank you for the reply. I think I figured it out. I feel silly. My new motherboard came with a WiFi antenna that is also a Bluetooth antenna. I didn't look into it because I am using a wired connection. Once I installed the antenna, the problem seems to have gone away. I am still getting disconnect problem with my PS4 controller in one game, but I think it is specific to that game.

HI WDVA. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

Try these fixes for PS4 Dualshock game controller connected via Bluetooth but not working on Windows 10/11 PC:
